I AM Ucommenced in 2017 as a layered social media project investigating selfie culture and how we use social media to express ourselves, form friendships and interact with each other. Over 50 people responded to my call out to have 'yourselfies' made. 20 people were selected by having their names being pulled from a hat. I produced the yourselfies by performing a 'Facebook reading' looking at what the various individuals had posted on social media about themselves. I produced the works by chanelling each person through the reading of their Facebook page to capture their yourselfie in my studio. I AM U was produced for an exhibition curated by Felicia Lloyd of Crow Street Creative, and exhibited at Photopia Studio with support from Regional Development Fund.
